Christmas Caper this Sunday!

Dont forget this Sunday (15th December) is the COG Christmas Caper!

Hope to see plenty of people dressing up and pimping their bikes…

Departing the car park outside inchture primary school at 9:30am (ish) we will ride mostly off road until we return at lunchtime for soup and a bacon roll at our house next to the car park.

The unique format will be ‘strava enduro’ 5 timed segments will be linked by social transitions. You will need a bike that you can ride off road and although there won’t be any technical single track it will get a bit bumpy.

Prizes for the stages plus best dressed and best dressed bike.

Lochore Meadows – Kinross Cyclocross

Big turn out for COG Velo yesterday at Lochore Meadows Kinross Cyclocross.

A few words from Pete.
Glorious day in Ballingry. Cold but wall to wall sunshine kept the spirits and spectators warm. COG riders in almost every race (counting COG Kids), and our fair share of bad luck. the land is pan flat, but they carved out a tough course, and some impressive mud. Lots of hurdles meant there was nowhere to hide if you can’t jump mount (I can’t!), and the crowd enjoyed some unorthodox mounting in “the arena”. The spiral of doom was endless, and I suspect there are still people riding in circles somewhere near the loch.
Bad luck to Kirsty (flat), Paul F (Flat), Pedro suffered a trashed bike – oouch thats gonna hurt your pocket (at least Christmas is coming up…)

Russell rocked to highest placed male at 18th, thought I was just behind, still 2 mins on the track. Paul F still managed 27th even with a pit stop. Kirsty was 10th in the ladies.
Good day out!

Well done to Anna, who achieved a podium spot for sprog velo.

CX-tastic!

Irvine Beach Park Cyclocross

A few words from our CX hard man!

Eventful race in the sand at Irvine Beach today. I finished 52nd, but a last lap crash meant I had to run the last 700m (I knew that running practice would come in handy eventually!), which cost me at least a dozen places. Broken brake lever, rear mech & punctured tub.

Not so good. We hope you get your bike sorted for your next race mate.

Race report and results are on the Scottish Cyclocross website.

COG Ride 21st Nov

Another night where we had road (8 bodies) and off-road (5 bodies) action. Road loop was up Knapp to Tullybaccart then back round to Abernyte and finishing at Inchture. Off-road was up and down Kinnoull hill in the darkness – great fun! Weather was very cold but good turn out all the same for both. I must say the Moon was awesome!

Cross Country Christmas Caper

Santa BenThe 2nd COG Cross Country Christmas Caper will be held on Sunday 16th December.

Meeting point will be the car park in inchture at 9.30am.

This year will be a bit less committing than last year but will be run as an ‘enduro‘ with 5 sections and transitions in between where we will all ride together…

There will be prizes for the fastest on each section and fastest aggregate time for them all. The emphasis will be on fun with special kudos reserved for anyone with Christmas pimping of their bike or person. You will need some sort of off road machine but nothing will be too technical or challenging.

If you need more info then just get in touch Lastly – if your not using the Facebook cog velo notice board then you’re missing out on lots of chat and useful information about cycling in the carse and other stuff (well not much other stuff). It’s where it’s at and is for cog members only!!!
