Fast boys were out for a good blast last night – no holding back. Pedro putting the hurt on Pedro-style. I’m sure everyone felt it! Weather started getting bad as we crossed the Tay road bridge on our way back to Inchture – very wet. Hope you made it back in one piece Nick 😉
Dundee Thistle reliability rides will start from the Millenium Hall in Birkhill. Registration will open from 9am. Hot and cold refreshments will be available after the ride at the Millenium Hall. A charge of £5 per rider will be levied to cover hall hire and refreshments.
There is a choice of 3 routes:
Short route – 36 miles
The short ride will depart at 11 am and will proceed at an easy pace, ensuring nobody is left behind.
Medium Route – 54 miles
The medium route will depart at 10.30 and will travel at a normal ‘club run’ pace.
Longer route – 75 miles
The long route will depart at 9.45 am and will travel at a brisker pace.
The COG trio (Pete,Pedro & Steve) opted for a leisurely spin around the Tay, well leisurely for Pedro at pace for most other people 😉 Well done guys good miles for this time of year and considering it was snowing the day before in Perth.
COG road ride with unfortunate punctures. Handful of riders out with some Dundee Thistle folk joining us which was nice. A relatively short ride with a couple of hills Kilspindie and Rait then returning to Inchture.
Well done to the brave 3 who took up the challenge on Saturday to race in the Dundee and District Hill Climb. A little cycle up Abernyte as fast as you can muster – definately more fun coming down!
Russell taking 3rd place Pedro 13th and Olly 16th – Superb effort gents!
Will need to bring a road bike, although may use track bikes there depending on numbers. Track bikes have look Keo pedals.
There will still be a club ride starting at Inchture hotel at usual 18:30
We have an offer of using the Caird Park velodrome this Thursday evening – 19th at 18:00. They plan to open it to newcomers and seniors for the next couple of weeks.
Should be awesome fun, especially if there’s a good group of us. Will be weather dependent of course – riding on smooth Tarmac in tight formation in the rain isn’t too clever…..

Great performance from Carse of Gowrie boys last night all finishing around 25 minute mark. Weather was very wet – hot showers and rest up until thursday is in order. Also little Ben should get a mention for his impressive effort – well done!
Big turn out last night 14 riders I believe, some opting for a TT in preperation for Dundee Thistle 10 mile TT on 11th June. The rest choosing a normal club ride which was probably just as demanding with 2 big climbs Glendoick and Rait. Weather was perfect with sunshine and slight wind, most enjoyable. Some new faces again well done guys, hope you enjoyed the ride.
