Good luck and hope you all come back safely. Also keep a watch on strava for when Russell and Pedro make a break for the KOM (30% incline).

I am praying for better weather than what the Met Office is predicting.

Well done to all who took part at the weekend, the photos look amazing – very scenic Inverness route. I heard the climb was a bit tougher than most people expected. Superb effort from the Crawfords, Steve 15th overall and Fran 5th overall in the ladies category.

Rest up and have a beer or glass of wine you have earned it.

Kinross Sportive 2014 Results

Well the awesome COG Train (see photos) set off from Loch Leven Community Campus, Kinross around 9am. It was a little bit cold at the start but we soon warmed up and settled into a steady pace. The weather cleared up nicely and was even hot for most of the journey. Then the chilly wind picked up for us finishing – which was pretty tough riding towards Kinross.

… The day didn’t go without its troubles with Pat having a bad fall near the start, and still completed the course. Chris snapped chain 30 miles in which he repaired and also completed the course. Olly tried a bit of off-road which was not to clever and hurt his knee. Ali another technical and having to cut his ride shorter than expected.

Another COG rider wasn’t satisfied with the 87 miles of the Black route and decided to join Stirling CC for a few extra miles during his ride – brilliant Nick! (total 93 miles nutter)

Great effort form all COG Velo on Sunday and particularly Pete, Fran and Katie. Pete came in an impressive 5th overall. And ladies Fran and Katie crossed the line in joint 2nd place overall ladies.
