Mad March Sportive

Anyone fancy a mothersday cycle in Fife?

Pedal Powered Events have organised a second sportive on Mothersday. With the balance on the St Andrews Sportive settled, it’s time for a cheeky wee season opener taking in some of our favourite hills.

Registration opens at 9am From the Car Park in Ceres

Route is a 2 lap loop in a rough figure of 8.

Starting in Ceres & taking in Lower Largo, New Gilston, Largoward, Peat Inn, Pitscottie & Strathkinness & heading back to Ceres for lap 2.

Fife autumn ride

It turned out to be a fantastic day for a ride, pictures look great.  Plenty of riders (9 in total) seizing the opportunity to catch one of the last few days of nice weather to cycle through fife – can’t beat it!

Taybridge > Newport > Wormit > Balmerino > Springfield > Anstruther > Crail > Scotlands Secret Bunker > Stravithie > St Andrews > Strathkinness > Dairsie > Craigsanquhar > Logie > St. Fort > Wormit > Newport-on-tay > Taybridge

St. Andrews Sportive

Anyone heading to St. Andrews but not for a game of golf?

This Sunday St. Andrews will host the St. Andrews Sportive cycle event now in its 2nd year and bigger than last year, with over 400 riders this year. There are a choice of 3 routes 48 miles, 66 miles and 88 miles with 4427 feet of climbing. Looks like they will be very nice routes through fife with some interesting climbs.

Tour de Tay 23rd May

Tour de Tay

Good turn out with 9 riders up for the Tour de Tay last night, with 2 new riders along for the ride (Nick & Jamie). Well done guys it certainly was not a slow pace last night hope you are not too sore today! Weather was a cold evening and the wind was at times unpleasant, however we battled through and had an enjoyable ride through Perthshire and Fife.

Kinross Sportive this Saturday

Looks like Carse of Gowrie Velo will be putting out a good size squad this Saturday for the Kinross Sportive. Hope everyone is prepared and ready for this very challenging Sportive. Bring on the nice weather!

SATURDAY 27th APRIL 2013

Registration is in the Loch Leven Community Campus (LLCC) and entry is through the quadrangle at the front of the building. Registration desks will be open from
08:00 until 09:30. Earliest start time of 8.30am and the plan is to be there for this time and all set off together! Discuss transport and lift share in the discussion forum.
You will have been emailed your rider number and your unique rider agreement form which you must sign nd bring with you.

COG Fife Ride

Our Tour of Fife took us through some nice little towns and villages on what turned out to be a very nice day (some wind) oh and only one puncture. Starting from the Fife side of the Tay Bridge.

First Half
Newport – Wormit Balmerino – Kilmany – Diarsie – Strathkinness – Largo – Pittenweem – Anstruther – Kilrenny – Crail.

Stop for a quick coffee in Crail then second leg the homeward journey.

Second Half
Crail – Troy Wood (not so secret bunker) – Strathvithie – St Andrews – Guardbridge – Leuchars – Tayport – Taybridge
